Ottawa festival goers can now make their summer plans a reality, as RBC’s Bluesfest has officially announced their line-up! With  Kanye West joining notable artists such as, Diplo & Skrillex, NAS, Iggy Azalea, Flight Distance, Keith Urban, Interpol, De La Soul, Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros, The Gaslight Anthem, Paul Oakenfold, Marianas Trench, Lynard Skynard, Charles Bradley, The Tragically Hip, and Weird Al Jankovic, this years festival promises to give fans some of the best from every genre, past and present.
The Internet has become a fascinating place for creativity over the years. Memes, stemming from the Greek word mimēma which means “that which is imitated”, are humorous images and videos that are shared and spread among Internet communities and often concern pop culture references. They have instituted themselves as the pinnacle of Internet comedy.

Although they’ve only been around for a short time, Ottawa based band PINE is already tearing up the local scene. Having already headlined their own show and opened for the internationally acclaimed Balance and Composure, PINE is showing us just how good Ottawa’s music scene can be. It’s hard to pinpoint PINE’s specific genre.
2014 saw production duo Snakehips release their latest single ‘Days With You’ feat Sinead Harnett alongside them regularly hitting the top spot on the hype-machine with their faultless remixes (Banks, Raury, The Weeknd, Wild Belle, Bondax). All of which aided the impressive growth of the London based act and resulted in them being one of the most in demand teams to seek out for remixes and DJ shows – here and in the US.
