You feel your skin sizzle as the heat rays from the beating sun turn your skin into a crisp brown. A bead of sweat trickles down your brow and as others follow suit, your mouth begins to feel dry while your throat quenches for something icy cold to drink. This sensation is a constant reminder that we have officially entered summer time!
When I was young, I was deeply in love with popular culture. Entertainment Tonight was my daily news because I was a kid, and the real news was boring. I always knew about things like the Berlin Wall, sort of; but I also knew when Spike Lee would release his films, when it was Michael Jackson’s birthday and whether his sister Janet would challenge him for pop supremacy.
One of the great music festivals in Canada is a mere 22 days away! While everyone here in the city of Ottawa enjoys the amazing acts performing at RBC Bluesfest, Osheaga 2013 in the great city of Montreal is gearing up to put on memorable performances from such classic acts as ‘The Cure’, Mumford and Sons, Kendrick Lamar, Pretty Lights, up and coming Azari & III, and so many amazing acts that I can’t even wrap my head around who to focus on!
