Antidote Magazine | The Remedy is Diversity

Paula Aguirre is photographer based in Argentina, and together with her sister Mariángeles, who’s based in Berlin run tHERAPY recycle and exorcise a sustainable fashion brand. The brand consists of reworked, recycled and upcycled vintage clothing that they acquire while traveling around. They promote ethical and conscious fashion through their DIY project and you can acquire their items through stores, pop ups and flea markets throughout North América and Europe.

Machine Girl, the Brooklyn-based producer, has reached deep within herself to extract defused musical formations. Her brooding style of darkstep drum and bass proves noisily to be a concoction of the inner circles of hell. The music is the fuel of nightmarish images that you never want to wake up from.

Antidote combs the globe for young talented fashion photographers with a passionate eye. This month we have a fashion submission from Shevon Miller.
Shevon is currently a college student in New York City where she was born and raised. Shevon essentially started as a graphic designer and photo retoucher, but after dating a photographer and having many photographer friends she emersed herself fully in to learning as much as she could with photography.

CMW has brought some amazing international talent to Toronto, but I still feel the festival’s main strength is its support of local, unsigned, and underground talent. Day three for Antidote Magazine was all about exploration. I went to every show knowing nothing about the artists playing and I’m happy to say I was blown away by all the talent.

Dives tend to garner a bad rep. For some the term ‘dive’ may recall images of a tacky, forgotten hole-in-the-wall where an over-rambunctious, bleached-blond, spikey-haired Food Network star is perturbing the chef in the kitchen. If you’re one such antagonist, it is time to throw your misguided perception into the deep end.

Even though warm weather is approaching, a heeled bootie is the perfect go-to for the Spring season! To wear boots in the Spring, make sure to add color to your outfit! A colourful midi dress or skirt, or a coloured blazer is the perfect add-on to your outfit to give it that springtime feel!
