The DIY design aesthetic is taking the fashion world by storm this season. The trend first emerged in late 2016, rounding out the year with iconic looks like the Himumimdead custom script tee worn by A$ap Rocky during his Money Man short film. This aesthetic has inspired other major brands so far this season.
2017 Appears to feature one of the biggest collaborations in recent memory. The collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Supreme has built up plenty of anticipation and represents the growing influence of streetwear in high fashion. CMW has brought some amazing international talent to Toronto, but I still feel the festival’s main strength is its support of local, unsigned, and underground talent. Day three for Antidote Magazine was all about exploration. I went to every show knowing nothing about the artists playing and I’m happy to say I was blown away by all the talent.
Time sucks. It is the relentless phenomenon that creates untold insecurities, anxieties and fears in us all. We are simply clumsy collections of atoms, hurtling toward a certain death, and all we can do is bide our time.
