The city of Ottawa is supposed to be quiet, regulated, and clean. It’s supposed to be populated by government officials, young families, and the elderly. Based on these popular misconceptions, the city of Ottawa is not supposed to have one of the fastest growing music festivals in North America either, but it does, and you need to be there.

Each year in early June, Manchester Tennessee holds one of the greatest festivals in the world, Bonnaroo. Bonnaroo, a festival for true music lovers and festival junkies, has one of the best atmospheres you could ever experience. Headlining this years festival is the legendary Elton John, newlywed Kanye West, Jack White (admitted hater of Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys), Nicole Richie’s Dad Lionel, and Vampire Weekend.
OTTAWA — City Sisters, Ottawa’s premier clothing swap and young professional women’s networking social, will host its first event on Sunday, May 25. The legendary Earth Wind and Fire is headlining a lineup that always seems to attract some of the most talented musicians you will hear anywhere. Even comedian Steve Martin will be making an appearance with the Steep Canyon Rangers, in a performance that will entertain audiences on numerous levels!
With Electronic Dance Music festivals all but dominating the events market in terms of hype and production, it was only fitting that the great city of Toronto, produced one of their very own.
Veld, a massive EDM festival that occurs in downsview park, has quickly become one of the best festivals in the great white north.
If you haven’t been to Osheaga before, your ignorance should not be considered bliss. With incredible performances in the 2013 edition from Mumford and Sons, Kendrick Lamar (the newest member of the ‘should have won a grammy’ club), and the ultra buzz worthy Wild Belle, Osheaga 2013 was an event that truly solidified the festival as one of the best that Canada has to offer.
