Although they’ve only been around for a short time, Ottawa based band PINE is already tearing up the local scene. Having already headlined their own show and opened for the internationally acclaimed Balance and Composure, PINE is showing us just how good Ottawa’s music scene can be. It’s hard to pinpoint PINE’s specific genre.
2014 saw production duo Snakehips release their latest single ‘Days With You’ feat Sinead Harnett alongside them regularly hitting the top spot on the hype-machine with their faultless remixes (Banks, Raury, The Weeknd, Wild Belle, Bondax). All of which aided the impressive growth of the London based act and resulted in them being one of the most in demand teams to seek out for remixes and DJ shows – here and in the US.

Grimes has become an odd entity within our culture: an artist releasing incredible abstract pop music with an equally unusual appearance. Since the release of the successful album Visions, Grimes has gone on to make renowned videos, go to the MTV Video Music Awards, sign with RocNation management and watch her fan base continue to grow.

  After winning a Grammy this year for best R&B Album, Black Radio, Robert Glasper became a name synonymous with the New York jazz scene. The renowned pianist broke on to the mainstream in February 2012 with his experimental album project Black Radio that had quite an semblance of talent. The roster included Lupe Fiasco, Common and Queen Neo Soul artist Erykah Badu.
