Offering a mix of PC Music’s polished and synth sounds with a touch of Trap’s ass-shaking demands, DJ Pusher is welcomed to Ottawa, debuting his incredible beats and mixes to the unsuspecting crowd. The Canadian artist has developed a sound all his own that still matches what the near-future of club music is steering towards; a sound that fits ever so nicely between Keys N Krates and the very hyped A.G.
[note]Noah Venkatarangam recently released the cinematic and whimsical album Wonderheart. The rich production and theatric vocals bring you to a world of Noah’s own inspired creation. Antidote had the opportunity to sit down with the artist to discuss his music and his upcoming show at Mercury Lounge (on May 31st).[/note] Could you give us a brief history of how you started with singing, how has the journey been?
The Bourbon & Bubbly Speakeasy has been a success keeping many of Ottawa’s finest warm through this cold winter. The month of January saw many talented performers pass through the weekly event including Landan Brawley, who’s used multiple aliases including scvrs and Frustra. One of the great music festivals in Canada is a mere 22 days away! While everyone here in the city of Ottawa enjoys the amazing acts performing at RBC Bluesfest, Osheaga 2013 in the great city of Montreal is gearing up to put on memorable performances from such classic acts as ‘The Cure’, Mumford and Sons, Kendrick Lamar, Pretty Lights, up and coming Azari & III, and so many amazing acts that I can’t even wrap my head around who to focus on!
The sun is shining, the heat is rising and all your favourite bands are on tour. That’s right; it’s the summer music festival season. It’s the time when line-ups are so eclectic that Nine Inch Nails will share a headlining gig with Mumford & Sons at Lollapalooza and you wonder if Reptar will be the next big band to break through from Bonnaroo’s early time slots.
