Minimal Black and White (Monochrome)
As seen on the runway Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, and Helmut Lang, this look is very easy and simple to execute. It is similar to the color blocking trend of summer 2012 but without the color. Playing with different shapes and texture such as a structured top and a loose fitting trouser will enhance the monochrome look!
Suggestion: Add a pop of color with an accessory such as a bangle to give it an edge and complete the look
Colors such as dusty teal and dusty blush (almost nude) were present on the runway in the Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, and Alexander Mcqueen collections for Spring summer 2013. Not to be confused with pastel colors, dusty colors are usually paired with earthy tones. This look can be executed by wearing it tone on tone. This trend is meant to look effortless and lingerie like.
Suggestion: If the tone on tone layering is too bold for you can wear a light colored camisole under dusty teal or dusty blush sheer garment. It is an easier way of recreating that look.
Pops of red and yellow
Last winter we saw deep jewel tones, oxblood red, and burgundy everywhere. For this spring it’s all about vibrant blood orange and different shades of yellow. Blood orange will be more of recurring tone that can be used in your wardrobe as an accent color. Yellow will also be used as an accent in accessories but in this case there will be different shades from bright yellows to mustard yellow. It is known that yellow is a color that retails very badly but this season will be the revival of yellow.
Suggestion: These are accent colors you do not need to wear them from head to toe.
