With SXSW and Coachella behind us, it’s time to turn our attention north. Canadian Music Week is a nine day festival showcasing both local and international talent. The fest has graduated from bitter March to balmy May, inviting the less cold resistant music fans. With an overwhelming number of artists, this year is sure to be bigger and better than anything before.
On April 4th, 2015, I made my way to Ottawa’s well established jail-turned-hotel. Located across from the Rideau Centre, the Ottawa Jail Hostel’s haunting shadows lurked over the city streets. I walked around to the back of the building, through an eerily quiet parking lot, and to a dead end. Confused, I spotted a man outside one of the back entrances.
Ottawa festival goers can now make their summer plans a reality, as RBC’s Bluesfest has officially announced their line-up! With  Kanye West joining notable artists such as, Diplo & Skrillex, NAS, Iggy Azalea, Flight Distance, Keith Urban, Interpol, De La Soul, Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros, The Gaslight Anthem, Paul Oakenfold, Marianas Trench, Lynard Skynard, Charles Bradley, The Tragically Hip, and Weird Al Jankovic, this years festival promises to give fans some of the best from every genre, past and present.
Religion is an aspect of life that touches many people. For some, religion is more than just attending a service once a week and praying before meals. Father Murphy, the dynamic Italian duo of Freddie Murphy and Chiara Lee, have built a devotional career of psychedelic doom rock to the Lord above.
Evolution is a fact of nature. Everything, from the smallest molecule to the tectonic plates of the Earth’s innards, is in constant motion forward. Time is the main cause that allows for such shifts to occur. As time crawls, things change. Human beings are only mere examples of all our worldly changes.
