As if the sensual FKA Twigs and smooth duo Inc. read our recent article on how both construct spacey sexy tunes, a collaboration between the two acts was just released, modestly titled ‘FKA x inc’. The patchwork of sounds is distinctly FKA Twigs, using similar instrumentation in ‘Water Me’, but the soft R&B vocals of the Aged brothers creates a perfect musical relationship.
The band known as ‘Unreal’ who became ‘El Mo’ in a 1999 junior high school are now Still Life Still, and the outfit has come out with its second full-length album, four years since their debut Girls Come Too. Drop the needle on a Still Life Still record, and you can tell they’re from Toronto just by the guitar’s style and the drum arrangements.

  After winning a Grammy this year for best R&B Album, Black Radio, Robert Glasper became a name synonymous with the New York jazz scene. The renowned pianist broke on to the mainstream in February 2012 with his experimental album project Black Radio that had quite an semblance of talent. The roster included Lupe Fiasco, Common and Queen Neo Soul artist Erykah Badu. 
It’s become a yearly ritual for me. All roads in early August will lead to Montreal’s Parc Jean Drapeau for a year’s worth of auditory jubilation, delectable eating and feverish festival fun. With back-to-back record-breaking years in attendance, it’s clear that Osheaga has embedded itself onto the list of North America’s premier music festivals.
