July truly is the best time of year to be in the city of Ottawa. Not only is patio season in full swing, but July also signals the arrival of some of the greatest events Ottawa has to offer. Ottawa’s Bluesfest is in North America’s top 10 festivals and happens to feature some of the best and most talented artists you can think of.
R&B is an ever-expanding and changing genre, especially in 2012… if you’re a man. Frank Ocean, Migeul, and The Weeknd all rose to higher notoriety and famethanks, in part, to their minimalist beats and crisp falsettos. They brought fresh sounds and perspectives and reinvigorated the likes of Usher, with “Climax” being a direct result of the Weeknd and Drake.
Kendrick Lamar has become the critical darling of rap for the moment, and Gaga’s steals some of that magic by posting this demo of their track “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.” The song was meant to be on Lamar’s debut LP, but ended up not making the cut for a reason that remains unknown.
