Beauty tip of the week

Contouring is the new Photoshop and this trend is not leaving the beauty world anytime soon! Kim Kardashian’s beauty secret is the latest craze, and the most important part of this makeup technique is to know which contouring and highlighting products to use to ensure that you are enhancing your best features and not painting on a new face. Contouring should be applied with a “less is more” technique in order to give your makeup a nice effect and add dimension to your face. Keep in mind that you must consider your skin tone, your face shape and the right tools. That being said, I was able to try different contouring products and here are my top three picks!

1. STICKS – The Sculptor Contouring face Slenderizer by TARTE
Contouring sticks are handy and portable, and allow ultra-precise application. After trying different sticks, the TARTE Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer was my top pick! Made with Amazonian clay and creamy in texture, this contouring stick is ideal for easily creating the illusion of high cheekbones. If you’re looking for a product that will make it easy for you to contour like a pro, this TARTE stick is the answer! To make it easier to apply and smoothen, use it with the TARTE Slenderizer Bamboo Contour Brush. http://www.tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-the-sculptor-contouring-face-slenderizer

2. POWDERS – The Contour Kit by Anastasia Beverly Hills
If you tend to have oilier skin and/or you are a beginner at contouring, powders are the perfect match for you! Not only does the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contouring Kit come in different shades, each palette comes with highlighting AND contouring powders for sculpting and emphasizing your features! If you’re looking for a product to define your assets and create natural, grey-toned shadows where you want them, look no further! Tip: Powders look most natural when they are applied from the outer corners of the face inward. http://anastasiabeverlyhills.com/makeup-contour-kit.html

3. CREAMS – Contour Kit by COVER FX
Ideal for dry skin, contouring creams are easy to blend and are makeup artists’ go-to for the perfect look! One of my favorite things about the Canadian company COVER FX is that they focus solely on face makeup and produce products without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, etc. With this COVER FX cream kit, a little goes a long way, and it also features ultra-blendable highlighting and contouring shades. Combine the perfect shades to create a seamless skin finish by defining your best facial features! To blend creams and build coverage easily, use a beauty blender instead of a brush. http://www.coverfx.com/contour-kit.html
